Start off the day smooth....with a little bit of Pumpkin!
Today we'll dip into some Mentalow so you know....but I'll be moving around quick so pay attention.
Vin's does many mixes here's some I enjoy:
Vin's versus Supafuh:
Together Pumpkin and Vin's form Mentalow Music.
A small organization dedicated to making great music indeed.
Find them here:
MENTALOW MUSIC
PUMPKIN
At the moment from what I understand, Pumpkin is wrapping a brand new release featuring some pretty big names including TY, DJ VADIM, PUGS ATOMZ, BEATSPOKE, and others. Keep an eye out for Fall 2012!

VIN'S
Vin's is also working with emcees in the French scene including GREG FRITE, OLIGARSHIIT, and more than I can remember. You'll be hearing more about this upcoming producer for awhile.
So don't sleep. "Sleep is the cousin of death," to quote some famous guy, somewhere.
I'ma keep it moving. Check out some other fine examples here on YouTube...including yours truly!

One last one for inspiration's sake:
BONUS:
This is not a MENTALOW production but includes a few heads they have worked with.
I happen to dig this one a lot as well. I think you will too!
Look out for the VIn's cameo appearance.
Who is he? Just think about a deadly crossover and the picture becomes clearer. ;)
Peace and mint with water ya'll!

EGOTRIP leads to Mass Influence via Ya'll So Stupid...????
Thank you EGOTRIP! (Click here and be magically transported to EGOTRIP land!!!
Why, you ask?
Well they are holding a contest to win the new Mass Influence release!
If you know your Hip-Hop history, then you know that Mass Influence has a former member of Ya'll So Stupid (H2O, I believe) in their group.
Ya'll So Stupid was one of those groups that came with mad originality you could also groove to.
Indeed, I believe I was VERY close to snapping my taped copy.
Anyway, due to this contest, which I just entered as should you, I was reminded of just how good the song "Van Full Of Pakistans" is.
Damn on rye! With an extra serving of whoa-now!
If you're too young to have heard this joint, well, welcome to something VERY special.
If you're from the "golden age"(what a corny term..Hip-Hop is Hip-Hop to me no matter when), then you will probably get that same feeling you had back then. The song stays both current and fresh for me, even now 19 years later!
Enough blah-blah. .. ..... .
Now how about bringing us up to date eh?
OK! Happily!
Keep it coming....

ANTHROPOWORKS
In my Bollywood post, not too long ago, I mentioned Anthropoworks.
I met WydoW two years ago, at a Submass Crew function, and he would later introduce me to the core family who stay in the northeastern corner of Paris.
A bunch of really good-hearted, crazy, and adventurous guys who live life to the fullest and make some freaking kick-ass music, period.
Their network and extended family goes all the way out even further globally (I know of Friedsugaredthreepeewood in Italy and Hibrid in Russia or Bulgaria, I think.)
They've had my back numerous times, so it's only right I have theirs! Much love my brothers!
Well let's have a roll call, shabuya....
Just the facts sir.

Peep the sounds...
I'm sending shouts of respect to the entire crew and family!
I truly believe that they are the future of music. I'm honored and privileged to know and continue to work with them. As in the classic photograph, A Great Day in Harlem, I know that history will one day reveal the REAL renaissance in sound, that this crew is making NOW.
Do yourself a favor and get with the future! Oh and peep out the twin brother of Anthropoworks (or close cousin if you prefer) NEW COCOON. Way ahead of their time and well deserving of your future attentions!

Intensive studies into oneself are necessary.
Let's begin.
Now please continue. Continue on even deeper.
And deeper.
Past your worries and stress.
Even deeper past the inner layers.
Speeding past the most inner layers and those that follow. You arrive to the core.
The essence is not seperate from the outer. Pains, sorrow, happiness, joy, struggle, dreams. As time is the canvas, apply your hue. Shape and mold your essence.
Back to one point. Where the outside and inside fuse. Those labels disintergrate. Seperation is no longer.
...And the time continues to pass.
.....Is it one hour or minute; one year or one generation; one lifetime or one blink of an eye?????
Moving faster than the speed of words....
How does it feel?
This is who you are. The cream of the .....
Give thanks.

Well good weekend to you all. This ride is a test.
After a full week of well, week-type things, the mic is ready.
Live in the east and live in the west, is what I say.
The vibe is heavy, but differs depending on where you go.
Live and we fresh, yes very fresh in the midwest, so keep that as an option!
South to the north and all points in between, is what I say.
You should think, "No red lights, yo, I only see green."
Why? Because when you stop is when you ensure 100% that you will lose.
Did you get my Drift? Hope so. Have a great week!
A nice little ditty if I don't say so myself!

People are awesome but the soundtrack for this compilation is less than awesome.
Just a suggestion.
1)Play this video, put it on mute and pause:
2)Use this video playlist for the replacement soundtrack to the above video.

I'd start around selection number 17, but there is enough music in the playlist to get you through about an hour. Oh, don't forget to put the playlist on auto!

You know, they say genius runs in the family.
I say, "why, yes it does!" (Yes I'd say why with a lowercase W!)
I love my cousins on both sides of the family.
They're all conservatively crazy, but in good ways.
Craziness borders genius, in fact, according to some old paraphrase I'm way too lazy to go research.
Cut to the chase ALREADY!
I'm hungry (no, really I'm waiting for some drop-dead delicious pasta to be finished by my lovely soulmate.), you're hungry (you've been busy Facebooking the day away and now you're on your twelfth YouTube playlist.), so what are you going to do about it?
What are you going to feed that now-growling stomach of yours?
Well, my cousin has your back!
Yes, one and all, swing on thru here:
THE SHARPEST KNIFE IN THE DRAWER
You know you want to subscribe, don't act like you don't....RSS FEED: feed://phud4thought.blogspot.fr/feeds/posts/default
You will be amazed at some straight up superb looking dishes(drool drool), and the steps and ideas that inspired them!
Okay I gotta eat, I'm starving...
GREAT JOB CUZ!

Interpretation.
"This is the next single(next single) moment in time. I clutch tightly until I be wrinkling mine.
Trying to live likely, and sprinkle my future with dimes.
This single goes out to those who are used to the climb.."
-RacecaR
I think music consumers, as much as the rest of us, are fairly intelligent and very aware of what they purchase.
Some might even enlightened to the ways in which their purchase affects the entire chain of the industry and all involved.
One facet of music buying back in the hey-days, was the entire consumption of your purchase i.e. the "sit down and listen in the basement, to what I just bought with my friends (the listening session)."
When you sit down to a good album, you are most likely not going to receive everything (conciously) in the very first sit. Add to that, the sophistication of the artist and the complexity of presentation.
In fact, I think, nowadays, the majority of albums and digital purchases do not include the printed lyrics, just the design and credits, if that.
With my past releases I am guilty as charged, due to my naive sense of privacy or just the plain lack of time as deadlines must be met and etc.
Well I think I will make a change to that in the future.
When I think back of past listening sessions with good friends, we would have the lyrics sitting outside of the record jacket, often passing them around the circle to share the gem of a line we just found. Without hesitation, we would share our different interpretations of the given text, which, in effect, seemed to heighten the connection with the artist and the music itself. Those were good times.
Why have we let those times pass? Yes, we live in a world where things become obsolete even before they're made, but we all still travel at lifespeed regardless.
So, after viewing the opening chorus, at the top of this post, from Modill's (Next Single featuring Diverse), taken from our first album Midnight Green on EV Productions..you're asking one question:
"What is RacecaR saying?"
I would have answered this, reoccurring question, all too easily at one time with a swift,"It's open to interpretation."
Easy cop-out eh?
We are all in the midst of an ever evolving change both within and without.
Maturity can only be fully treasured by the mature.
Cliche? Corny? Yes, but truth is often hard to swallow.
And so, I want to interpret these lines for you, so you know what I was thinking about. Of course the lines are always open for your own personal understanding, but having more than one viewpoint, can bring another degree to the table and we then are closer to that prized 360 degree view that we all seek in life.
Alright, let's do this.
"This is the next single(next single) moment in time. I clutch tightly until I be wrinkling mine."
-The opening is easily understood for it's literal definition. Clutching tightly though means you are holding on as if to not let go. "Wrinkling mine,"refers to the story, A Wrinkle In Time, in the sense that I wished my life to be equipped with a portal that I could use to find a different plane of existance where my dreams were alive. Escapism. I would later find out that, that idea does exist, but it requires much effort to complete.
"Trying to live likely, and sprinkle my future with dimes."
-"Trying to live likely" is important, in terms of growing up in Chicago. Shootings happens all too often, as they do all over the world. I use likely because, though I thought that I was considered socially awkward as a youth, I also felt that my choice to pursue and practice Hip-Hop, was a way to be different. I was right, and it kept me (and others I'm sure) out of the path of those average teen-aged troubles which can inhibit our youth from finding their way "outside of the box."
"Sprinkling my future with dimes" refers to money, but also the number ten. If perfection has a scale it is usually expressed in numbers, obviously one to ten (one being unsatisfactory and ten being the best). I intended the interpretation of both these concepts within this half a line. I'm certain some also see "dimes" as representative of attractive young ladies, as interpreted in the ever-growing Hip-Hop vernacular.
This single goes out to those who are used to the climb.."
- "This single" could be understood as this single moment or this single song.
"Those who are used to the climb" is another way of expressing the concept of everyone. We are all living with our respective troubles and stresses, so as we continue living, we "adapt to the climb."
Okay enough analysis. I'm going to get back to what I do best and that is to live and write fresh lyrics about it. I hope I could shed a bit of light on my guarded inner thoughts, and provoke the idea that musicians are as much writers as are novelists or poet leureates; which is a fact we all take for granted. the music industry really does package and over-simplify the art of expression.
More than meets the eye or ear. Definitely.
Peace and Respects,
12:51
p.s. Any further requests for the "translation" of any of my work, will be dually noted and, hopefully, fuliflled at lifespeed. Thanks again for your time!

Vitamen D. of Small Change (Chicago)
So a few posts ago I mentioned Jah Safe. His co-emcee in Small Change was Vitamin D.
Here's a taste in a four bar battle at Rhymespitters(one of the premier battle tournaments in Chicago).
Respects to both Vitamin and Sudan for keeping it Chicago on this round.
So that was just a taste. Now imagine both Jah Safe and Vitamin D backed by a live band?
Ahh the golden days of Chicago...Won't get misty eyed on you but I miss those days and the open mic sessions at Sub-T, The Note, Crocodile Lounge, Potion Liquid Lounge and Bill's Blues Bar amongst other hot spots scattered throughout the city.
Not much beside battle footage and there are multiple Vitamin D's out there, but here's a link to SmallChange from Chicago...
Small Change
Peace to you and yours and what's up Chicago?

BOB42JH
Something on the smoothed out tip.
I became acquainted with Bob42jh via YouTube.
He was one of the few who knew of Modill, as we never really got the chance to make an official Modill video. (There are plenty of FMV's up. In fact come through to my channel to peep the Modill playlist...LINK:)
Anyway Bob42jh has a new chilled out mix perfect for meditating after a night of heavy partying or perhaps an evening in, snuggling up to your bbq. What ever it is you do, be sure and peep out some great tunes at Bob's channel, BUT first peep this here chillllll mix. (Fans of Nujabes will fall in line.)
BTW, thanks BOB for the support and for the great tunes (the guy is a veritable library of music!)

Jah Safe of Small Change (Chicago)
Who am I kidding? Homesick? Yeah.
A couple more posts never hurt anybody...
Another purely talented cat from the GO (Chicago for those outside.
TIP: Do NOT call it the windy city if you ever visit, that's so 80's).
He started out in a live Hip-Hop group called Small Change.
They were pretty damned good live, word is bond. Yes you can take my word for it. Not sure if there's any video of those days, but he seems to be holding his own, now having moved out Cali-ways. Enough intro. Welcome to the world of Jah Safe:

A little jam from a fellow Chicagoan. Actually, a very cool cat and a mighty fine lyricist, if I don't say so myself. Continued success Qwazaar! Do yourself and check out G4, if you haven't done so before. Indie Hip-Hop with a distinct feel.

Hey all...come by today, because I know Facebook is a daily operation.
Maybe you're not familiar with my page on FB, but I have made a pledge to post three songs, video, or media that all rotates around a topic (although sometimes there is no topic, just because).
The cool thing is, if you don't pay attention, you'll miss the other two videos attached to each post, so ALWAYS expand the comment box, if it isn't open, and you'll reveal what becomes 9for9. Trust me, sounds confusing, but you'll see. I'm at about the second month of this concept and very happy with what I've come up with. I'm very sure you'll enjoy my choices as well. Whether you need something to get you through the workday, or just to pass the time; I got you!
Today's 3for3 topic is INSPIRATION.
COME VISIT ME HERE:

The thrilling ride. .. ..... .
In life's up's and down's, you can only do your best to roll with the blows.
I think the understanding and wisdom come much later, but in either case, it is well worth the trip everytime.
In actuality, it's not like you, or any of us, have a choice.
Though some of us seem pretty comfortable, I think that, deep down, we're all holding on for dear life.
Stress and problems can be viewed on a relative scale.
The important thing to remember is that it could be so much worse!
Will it get better? That is up to you to decide and to affect.
Make your choice and deal with the consequences, whatever they may be.
Peace and as always Respect,

So after taking in that heavy video, I pondered these questions:
"If all the world's wealth was shared out equally, how much would each person have?"
-The answer according to Mark P. via Yahoo is:
"In US dollars, $65000000000000 (65 trillion) is roughly the amount of cash in the world. The latest estimates say there are 6,600,000,000 ( 6.6 billion) people in the world. $65000000000000 divided by 6,600,000,000 people would mean each person has a worryingly low $9848.48! I hope that helped answer your question :)"
-The answer according to Carlton C. via Yahoo is:
"...As such, it would be hard to answer this question. There are approximately 963(+ or - 10) Billionaires in the world. If them and all of our millionaires distributed their wealth evenly, we would all be right back to how it is now in a few years :-) Wealth is a mindset, not an amount of money... To your success! Source(s): http://www.secretscreatewealth.com"
"How much would it cost to eradicate poverty and disease in the world?"
-Nikki on Yahoo says:
"$964,784,270,408.00 thats billions but who really knows..... Source(s): source:money solves all problems"
There is no real 100% accurate answer but I think you get a rough idea. I chose not to follow a scientific source because even science has room for error and we are all equipped with common sense. For me 10,000 is not low. I have yet to see my own account with more than 100! Think about this....10,000 could buy a lot of things.
"What could 10,000 dollars buy?"
Here's some answers:
http://mensconfidence.com/2011/12/11/what-you-can-buy-for-ten-thousand-dollars/
http://www.mytwodollars.com/2011/01/26/how-to-spend-money-what-to-buy/
http://www.ehow.com/how_4493934_invest-10_000-dollars.html
So what do you think?
I'm inclined to believe that, sans the politics and social structures, there would of course be personal motivations and we could be right back where we started. However, since we as people, have imagined quite a few things once thought impossible. I say why not entertain the idea of a huge change in quality of living for everyone?
When you have to face scarring visions of poverty daily, deep down inside, there has to be some reasonable solution.
In this world of "failing" economies and greedy hands, we still remain. For how much longer, who is to know? We can do something, even if it seems little.
I invite you to take these subjects into your conscience and ponder your own solutions. If you take action, then we are all that much closer to a solution. If you do not, we remain headed toward a destination that maybe no one wants to see.
Peace and Respect and SUCCESS,
12:51

One of my favorite go-to's is VICE. No limits to their honest and refreshing coverage of the world. It would seem that their topics are just under the radar, but it lends a certain edginess and grit to the theme they happen to be covering. I'm preferential to certain shows, but everything here is entertaining and very quality.
Take this doc for example. Real travels, real people, real events, no punches pulled.
